Often called the "Wild Men of the Wood" the Drúedain are found in rugged primeval woodlands like the Tawar-in-Drúedain of northeast Gondor, the Taur Andrast along the southwest flanks of the White Mountains, and the Eryn Vorn (S. "Black Woods") of southern Eriador. They are unexcelled woodcrafters and woodsmen who did not assimilate or cohabitate with other races. Instead, they prefer a rude life in the remote wilds; thus their name. Short, stocky, and having little body hair, they resemble no other Men, although they are descendants of the ancestral Daen Coentis and are indirectly and distantly related to Dunlendings.
