Join the Merp.com Volunteer Team

Sign up to today as a volunteer for the longest running, and one of the largest, website communities dedicated to role playing gaming in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Merp.com has been serving the Tolkien-gaming community since 1998.

We need to update our volunteer list in preparation for starting work on the new version of the site. Volunteers have the most impact in how the site is shaped, so sign up today.

We have a long list of areas that need one or more volunteers to help make this massive site function.

If you would like to volunteer, and can commit to just 15-60 minutes per week (or about 1 to 4 hours per month), then please join the volunteers list. If you are already a volunteer, please sign up anyway so we can update our lists, some emails and contacts have gotten out of date.

To sign up, simply register on the new merp.com website and then complete the Merp.com Volunteer Registration Form indicating you wish to volunteer, select the areas you think you would like to help, and how much time you think you could commit to.

You will then want to join the volunteers@merp.com email list by sending a blank email to:

volunteers-subscribe@merp.com

Then watch for the confirmation email and reply to it.. (Please note that you can not join using any Microsoft-based email address (MSN, Bing, Hotmail, etc.).)

In any of these areas, you can commit to as much or as little as you like. For example with forums or wiki you could commit to help moderate/admin one specific little sub-forum or wiki topic section, or a major category, or take on the entire section (forum would be one section, wiki another section, download links yet another, etc.), or sub-section, for example just one sub-forum, for example the forum for game modules discussion.

See the Volunteers section of the site for a comprehensive list of tasks:

There are a vast number of ways you can help contribute to the site and the community, and every little bit does help. The more people that step up and help, the less the load on any one single volunteer, and the more the site is kept in good repair and up to date.

Merp.com lives and breathes thanks to the work of volunteers just like you.

Namarie!

Merp.com Volunteer Team.
