MERP Assistant for PC question.

Posted by Marvin Godbey at October 01. 2007

Perhaps I'm grossly misunderstanding the overview, but it sounds like one could play MERP on their PC without any of the books.

Is this the case, or am I reading far too much into it?

Thanks!

You are correct that you are misunderstanding it's utility.

It is an AID to GMing, not a substitute for the books. It speeds up combat resolution, character generation,

keeping track of characters etc. (much like SuiteGM has done for years in the Java language).

You still need the rule books and adventure modules (or self created adventures using the rule books) in order

to play (and GM).

Hope that helps clarify.

Cheers!
