Some months ago we upgraded the mail servers in the never ending battle against spammers and their minions.

Unfortunately the last update caused a problem in letting new people subscribe to some of the email lists.

We have tried an adjustment that hopefully resolves the issue of subscribing to the merp@merp.com email list (just send a blank

email to merp-subscribe@merp.com and then when you get the reply (check your spam folder btw), you respond to the reply

and then you are subscribed (you will receive a "Welcome" email when you have successfully subscribed).

We still are seeing problems from people using Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com, etc.), so our

only recommendation (Since Microsoft has NEVER responded to our dozens of support requests from various users and our volunteer admins

on this issue), is for you to subscribe to the list from an email account NOT run by Microsoft. Google, Yahoo, or any others work just fine.
